What to do for a friendly outing?

Okay, so, I would like to eventually ask a coworker of mine out somewhere. We've known each other for about a month so I wouldn't call what I want to do a date since I've pretty much come to like his personality and his mature yet playful demeanor. This outing of sorts would just be for us to get to know each other more. Our work shifts are, sadly, too different for us to REALLY talk to one another and I think some sort of outing would help, you know?

Where we live there are way too many restaurants and not many adult activities to pursue. My original idea was to ask him if he'd want to have lunch and or go to this beautiful park near our workplace but I recall him saying he wasn't an outside person, so...

I haven't had the (lady) balls yet to ask for his number, either...my social awkwardness gets the better of me sometimes.

Guy: 23 Me, female: 19

If any other information is needed please go ahead and ask!

This is my first time on Reddit so please be gentle with me. I have seen people give great advice on here so if anyone can offer a tip or two that would be amazing, thank you!
