I don’t know what I should do argghhhhh, please help .

Hello my fellow redditors, summer has just arrived and I’m in a bit of a sticky situation. Before school finished I kind of sorted of got to know this girl. Before knowing her I sensed her looking at me on more than one occasion (like a week beforehand) I didn’t really get why. Anyhoo, when we actually spoke for the little while we did she kept laughing and giggling and the conversation flowed great. As I got home I followed her on insta and got followed back, I was wanting to talk to her then and there but I felt too shy and so I left it. Later, at a party I spoke to the girl a bit more, same way as last time, and again some laughs, but I wanted to, “play it cool” and didn’t want to seem like a desperate creep so after a while I kind of just left it. This girl has had like a FWB with her ex and during the party, she was making out with him, which made me think she was still interested in him...? It’s been 1-2 weeks now and I’ve been itching to ask if she would like to hang out over the summer and see where things go from there but to be honest I’m not sure whether or not I should. Like I said when it comes to these sorts of things I am really outside my comfort zone and don’t know how to handle them. Any advice would be appreciated !

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
