Everything was sun shine and rainbows and then she dumped me out of no where? Fearful avoidant deactivating?

So last August I had a very beautiful girl message me on Instagram. Now she was very nice and funny but I had just gone through a breakup after a 2.5 year relationship and I really didn’t see any chance of us being serious. She’s 21 and I’m 22 we both are graduating right now. So, I ended up not responding to her after we had a kind of boring convo one day with no real consistency back and forth. What I did not know was her grandmother was sick at this time and she was putting a lot of her attention there. She was extremely close to her grandmother, who was like a mother to her. Sadly she passed away last October.

But, for whatever reason about a month ago roughly, she was going through her contacts deleting some and she saw mine and wanted to try talking again and we hit it off. She was funny, sweet and super hard working. We had a lot in common; Politics, religion and Spanish backgrounds. She plans on going to nursing school and I’m a EMT and firefighter.

She has been extremely stressed about finals the past few weeks because she is trying to get into nursing school and she feels as thought getting in to nursing school would make her grandmother proud. She has mentioned she gets bad anxiety.

She was pretty clingy, after like two weeks. She’d text me things like ”oh love“ or “amor ❤️ “. I would always just like those texts because love for me is very serious and it felt way too soon.

About two days ago, she started acting funny. She was always out going, texting me first often and responding back quickly but then the responses became an hour later or a lot shorter and I’d be the one only texting first. Something changed and I couldn’t figure out what it was. She had told me two days ago nothing was wrong with us. I kept asking her and she’d say she was just having a bad day and needed to sleep. But yesterday she told me she was really upset and she couldn’t stop thinking about her grandmother.

We had a convo about it all in which she just kinda wasn’t really present. But she thanked me for being so supportive and said she was shocked about how supportive I was. When she ended the call she didn’t say goodnight she just said she was tired.

She then texted me around lunch time, yesterday saying “Hey, so I thought about it and I’m not ready for a relationship rn. I just have a lot going on”.

Additionally, she blocked me on Instagram which is so shocking to me but I do not believe she blocked my number because my last text to her had sent and had been read. Neither of us really even post on instagram. So why go to Instagram and block me??? We don’t exchange anything even in there like videos. Any guesses as to what happened?

Also, she is very religious and hasn’t been in a relationship in over a year and her mom knew about me because we’d always be talking so I don’t think there is much of a chance she is talking to anyone else. I just don’t get it.

TL;DR : me and a girl hit it off, she all of a sudden got weird and cited depression to her grandmothers passing in December as the reason. She texted me saying she wasn’t ready for a relationship rn and she just has a lot going on. But blocked me on insta??? Any idea what happened?

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
