How can I (20sF) be more dominant in bed?

I've been seeing my more sexually and romantically experienced boyfriend(20sM) for a few months. We've taken it slow and have not had sex yet but plan to when we see each other again in a few days. I'm a virgin and he knows that so we're both not expecting anything mindblowing. The thing is, he has mentioned he likes when his partners are a bit more dominant and generally prefers me to be on top when we're doing stuff. I'm not going to be overly ambitious for my first time, but we'll probably be having sex quite a few times that week and I'd like to surprise him by being dominant like he enjoys. However, I have no idea how. I know I should probably ask him what exactly he means, but I'd like it to be a bit more spontaneous and I don't want to just do whatever past girlfriends have done. He's a really kind, caring guy so I want to make this special for him too. He's considerably taller and overall bigger than me but is very receptive when I guide him into moving or changing positions so I'm not too worried about that. Just logistically, I can't physically dominate him. Does anyone have any ideas?
