How to say you’re not interested?

I’ve always been terrible at saying no or setting boundaries. I’ve stuck around in relationships where I wasn’t happy because I didn’t know how to extract myself early on.

I’m trying to learn new skills and I’m coming to the internet to ask “how do you turn someone down after a couple of dates?” What do you say? How do you nicely communicate with someone that they’re kind but you’re not feeling it? Do you have a set script? Are there rules around this or some etiquette to follow?

I’d be interested in hearing what you’ve said and how people reacted. I figure that saying it two dates in is the right way to go... as opposed to sinking more time and energy into it. I feel bad because he is kind, attractive, and we’ve had several long phone conversations. But I’m not feeling the sexual attraction or a desire to keep the dating going. I feel awful! How do I say it say it?
