Paid Romantic Couple Communication Study (mod approved posting)

Do you wonder about how the way you communicate with your partner affects your relationship? Are you interested in being involved in psychological research? If so, our study would be a great fit for you!

Given the longer-term commitment we require in this study, participants can earn up to $70 CAD/ $55 USD per individual (or $140 CAD/ $110 USD per couple) for their valuable time and efforts. Participants will first complete a screening survey and phone call to determine eligibility, for which you will be entered into a draw to win a $100 CAD gift card.

To be eligible for our study, you and your partner must be: 18 or older, currently living together in Canada or the United States, able to read and write in English, both willing to participate in the study, and together for at least 1 year.

If you meet our criteria and are interested in participating in our study, we ask that you email us at couplecommunicationstudy (@gmail.com) with the subject line “Interested in Couple Communication Study."

This study welcomes people of all genders and sexual orientations. This study was approved by the University of Toronto ethics board.

Confidentiality

We will store a file that links your name and email to your randomized ID number, which we will use in order to keep together data from the same person for multiple parts of the study. These data will be transferred to a password-protected computer in a locked research lab. Upon completing the study this file will be destroyed and your data will only be linked to the random identification number. Your identity will not be revealed in any description or publication of this research. All the information that we obtain from you will be kept confidential. We will store the records in an encrypted, password-protected spreadsheet. The confidentiality of your responses is of the utmost importance to us.

Feedback and Publication

The results of this research projected may appear in published scientific journals or be presented at scientific conferences. The results and de-identified data may also be made available through Open Access resources. The results may also be included in the researcher’s Doctoral dissertation. Data will not be tied to or identify individuals, only aggregated data will be presented
