2 days of silence later she asked why I am acting depressed. I said it was because she was being hard on me while I was saying it was a financial decision. That's when the screaming started and that she could leave anytime. That if she was working she would have bought it. How when her father was making big money he surprised her with diamond earrings one birthday. And how I would never do that. I interjected that I had in fact got her diamond earrings a few years back (not as big). She replied, that yes, but that was just one time. After more venting where I told her she was acting childish and throwing a tantrum, she said that she is getting the ring anyway. I know when I am beaten, so I agreed to place the order. As I placed the order button, she said she really wants me to feel I am doing the right thing.

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now. We hit it off and spent a lot of time together but she began to push our relationship as if there were a time clock for milestones.
