Should I (F) give a customer (M) I think is cute my number?

Its been a looong time since I thought someone was cute here in my college town, especially enough to make me get excited and giddy like a little school girl who has a crush, lol.

I'm a manager/cashier at this local restaurant. I've seen this man probably three times ever in the past three months but something about him...I want to get to know him but our interactions are so short and infrequent that I never get the chance (or courage) to speak to him or ask him something. The first time I saw him he came in with a hoodie, and didn't get a good look at his face but something told me he was cute lol Next time he came in without a hoodie on and oh my goshh... Let's just say, I have a crush now. He didnt come in for over a month so I kinda forgot/gave up on seeing him again. He came in a few days ago and after he told me his name i messed up and asked him again bc I was too busy in my head, happy he was finally calling an order in after so long. He came in, food was already ready and paid cash as usually but tipped me for the first time. We made eye contact and smiled at each other but that was all. I never have the chance to ask him anything, and quite frankly I'm too shy.

I want to get to know him but asking him something or saying he's cute is so bold and random to me. He comes in not very often so I dont want to miss my chance next time. I'm thinking of just writing down my phone number on his bag/receipt and leave it up to him to contact me if he's interested? Or is that too random/forward? Should I just suck it up and compliment his beanie or something :')
