I invited a girl I really like over to a rave and she was making out with another guy

So last night I (m21) invited a girl (f20) I'm into to a rave - we've been talking for the last couple of weeks and I wanted to spend some time with her. The party was just for our friends, so everyone knew each other. She came over and we had a great time together: joking, laughing, sipping wine, and sometimes having some kind of deep talk. I felt an emotional connection and was attracted to her. My friends also knew I was into her. We have been talking all night until my friend who organized the rave asked me to help him with his audio equipment. I agreed and stepped away for literally five minutes.

When I was done I turned around to go back to her and saw her making out with a buddy of one of my close friends. My mood was instantly ruined but I tried to enjoy the music at least for the next hours. I only exchanged a few words with her for the rest of the party and went home in the morning when the rave was over.

I think she could tell I was into her.

Did she get my signals wrong? Should I break up the contact with her? Maybe talk about it?

I am confused.

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
