How should I go about asking a coworker out?

I know the first comment will be “don’t eat where you shit”, that’s not helpful. We’re both in our mid 20s and our current job is not a career, just something to pay the bills. We work in different departments, so while we have to coordinate on occasion we don’t work side by side. I’m also considering moving to a different city so even in the worst case scenario this is not going to ruin either of our lives.

Anyway, I am interested in this coworker and I think she’s interested as well based on body language and how we talk. We get along well and have a lot of shared interests, we both frequently make excuses to talk to each other and we just keep talking until someone interrupts us or we feel like we need to get back to work. I would like to talk to her more, ideally outside of work.

My question is, would it be better to approach her as a friend first and ask her to “hang out” or should I be more direct and ask her to “go out” with me? I was thinking I would say something like, “hey, I enjoy talking to you, would you like to _____ sometime?” Which would be the better option?

My (27f) gf (27f) is getting tired of me not sharing intimate/ personal info about me

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
