I saw an incredibly attractive stranger and sad that I may never see him again

I was at a restaurant with my friend today having a laugh and just a good time. Then she noticed a guy walked with with his parents and said that he looked like my type? We sat on the level above but could see the floor below and he was directly in my line of sight if I turned to the left and looked down. But he was sat on the ground floor facing us directly. My friend said he immediately looked up at us and noticed us a few times but sat down and started ordering. Restaurant was fairly empty so it was us, two tables on our level (away from his line of sight) with only him and his family below.

Throughout the night, I tried not to look but then my friend mentioned that he kept looking up so my curiosity got the better of me and I caught his eye and turned away quickly. This happened several times over the course of the night. At one point he came upstairs to use the toilet and he looked at me when he went up and as he was going back down.

At one point when I turned my head to see if I could consider how old he was, he looked my way again and I smiled and quickly turned back. I had zero courage to disrupt him but I so wanted to. My friend said she noticed him staring a couple times and as he was leaving, he was staring at me apparently the whole time until he left the door 😭 Oh and I noticed that he paid for the whole meal with his parents which melted my whole heart 🥺💗

What are the chances that I may see this stranger again? Should I have approached him? I feel like it may have been too awkward with his parents around. Have you ever seen an attractive stranger more than once before? Did you ever act on it?

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
