Giving up on an old rejection

To begin, I'm new to Reddit, so I apologize if this is the wrong place for this question. With that said, I grow attached too easily to people without even having been in a relationship. I'm 27M for the record, and a specific example of this is a young woman I met at work who I immediately became interested in soon after she arrived.

It took me forever, but I did finally express that I was interested verbally (attracted I think was the exact word I used), but I was soundly rejected without consideration. This part isn't super unexpected as I have never been in a relationship, and am near giving up on the prospect of finding anyone.

However, for some reason, I just cannot forget about her: we still work in the same general office, and while I don't see her as much as I used to (we used to sit next to each other), I still get some flutters when she passes.

I guess my question is do any of you have advice on how to forget about someone and move on? And furthermore, maybe advice on how to become less attached when I meet someone. This is a recurring problem of mine: she is just one example that has hung around in my general vicinity for years.
