GF kinda enjoys when I go down but doesn’t want me to

So I’ve been together with my gf for 3 years and I LOVE going down on her. However from the beginning she always tried to stop me because it’s embarrassing for her.

After some time I noticed that she actually enjoys it if I work my way down slowly and only stops me after a bit. Of course I don’t want to force myself on her but it’s frustrating to know that she actually enjoys it. It won’t let me do it for a longer time, doesn’t want to do 69 no matter what, or sit on my face (or any other position) because it’s embarrassing to her.

After 3 years I just don’t understand why ... I mean I know her body completely and she knows mine. We have a lot of sex, used to do it daily for a whole year. And still I get the same answer when I ask her for a 69 or other position that involves me eating her out.

Any thoughts? Any similar experiences? Should I just give up, no matter how much I love it? It’s so frustrating ...

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
