How many messages is too crazy?

Okay so I have never been much of a dating app person, but in finding myself recently single I decided to give it a try. Well I’m on Hinge, I’ve had a few matches and a few conversations that have fizzled off pretty quickly. Anyways, last night this very nice guy “liked” me back. So in remembering his profile, I got on and started to type him a message. Well, at the same time he typed me one just saying hello and asking how my weekend was. I deleted my message and started over and told him that I was just writing a message as well and that I thought his profession was cool, and I ended it that my weekend was busy but fun and then asked how his was. No answer....it’s been 24 hours now and I’m confused. I don’t think I should message him again, but I want to. I have a feeling he didn’t get a notification because I sent my message right after his. Maybe I’m in denial, should I message him again? If I should, what do I say? I don’t want to seem desperate and crazy and don’t want it to sound like a follow up email. Ugh so frustrating. Like why message at all if you won’t respond!

The difference between being right and being understood

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
