Rocky start- is he into me?

I (23f) met a guy (23m) on a dating app about a month ago. I really enjoyed talking to him and we talked almost everyday. We hit it off pretty fast and made plans to go on a date- well, the day we were supposed to go out I got in a huge fight with my best friend and was an emotional mess. I couldn’t stop crying and ended up staying late at work as well. I cancelled and told him I wasn’t in a good spot to date.

He never responded, but 2.5 weeks later he texted me to see how I was doing. I was honest and told him I regretted canceling our date and that I was just in a bad spot that day, but that I really did want to go out. He was really sweet about the whole thing and told me that he understood and he was glad I was feeling better I asked if he was still interested and we went on our first date 3 days later. We hung out again last night, and before I left I asked if he wanted to go out this weekend and he said yes.

So far- I feel like things are going well. He’s assured me that I don’t have to explain myself for what happened the first time, and told me he’s really glad we ended up going out. I just have this lingering regret that my stupid choice of canceling initially will come back to bite me in the ass.

A couple of my friends have kinda gotten into my head that he just wants sex- which is now eating at me. We made out on our first date and we got close to having sex last night. When I went over last night I initially told him I didn’t wanna do more than make out and he told me that was absolutely fine. Like I said- he told me he wanted to go out this weekend when I asked, but he hasn’t texted me since I texted him earlier that I had a good time last night. One of my friends told me I was bootycall and now I can’t stop thinking about it. I just feel like if he ONLY wanted sex he wouldn’t have bothered to text me 2.5 weeks after I canceled a date and then agree to go out with me.

I really really like him and I wish I’d gone out with him sooner. He asks about my job and my students (I’m a teacher), and he’s just really sweet and respectful all around. He told me I’m bubbly and easy to talk to me, and gives me sweet compliment in general. He remembered details on our first date that we had talked about before I initially canceled on him. My only complaint is that he takes too long to text me back sometimes😂 I didn’t date at all in college so I just don’t know what to expect. I just regret being dumb, Im really into him and I hope he feels the same. Any thoughts? I’m worried i’m overthinking everything.
