Confusing signals…don’t know what to think

Long story short. Used to work with this guy, had a crush on him, couldn’t tell him because he was dating another coworker at the time, I quit that job months later.

After a couple years he liked one of my Instagram pics which triggered me to reach out (bad bad idea, 0 out of 10 don’t recommend doing this). Well, we started talking again for a few months only to find out he was still dating the girl from earlier.

I ghosted him after that and that was the end of it. Or so I thought.

Then another couple years go by and he liked another Instagram pic, this time thought I didn’t bother reaching out because by that time he had moved on and was with another girl completely. Actually shortly after I ghosted him. then he liked a second pic and then a third and then a fourth and a fifth and then wouldn’t stop watching my stories. So I reached out and told him he was making it hard for me to ignore him. Basically I told I him I was trying to move on.

Then that lead to a rather flirty / sassy conversation in response. Mainly on his end. Then the next day I just asked how he was to make sure he wasn’t going through anything stressful that was making him act out like this. (I say act out because he has never done this before and it was mildly concerning)

Now it’s been a few days and he won’t reply to my Snapchats or messages at all but is still watching all of my Instagram stories.

Then I found out that he unliked all of the pictures he had previously liked but instead of blocking me or un adding me on Instagram we are still following each other.

He kept one liked picture but upon checking hours later he unliked that picture as well. But we’re still following each other, he didn’t block me or unfriend me. And is still continuing to watch my stories. All of them, almost instantly too.

What’s he doing? Am I going crazy? Is this a thing guys do? It’s driving me insane and I’m a level headed person.
