Why have the times changed so much in regards to dating now vs. many years ago?

22F here. I’m just wondering why dating has changed so much from back then to now. For example, my parents knew each other as teens, and then got into a relationship, and married each other when they were 21 and 23. (This was in the early 90’s). I have many aunts and uncles and it was like this for most of them as well. They married their spouses during their 20’s and are still married to them to this day.

However nowadays, I keep seeing so many Reddit posts talking about men that are well into their 30’s that say they’re still “not ready” for a relationship, or are already approaching 30 years old and still not looking for anything serious. They’re still looking for only fwb and hook ups. I keep seeing posts from females talking about guys in their 30’s and still having the same issues as people in their early 20’s. It’s like guys don’t mature nowadays. By 32 years old, my dad already was married and had two kids (my older brother and I) and this is true for most of my uncles as well. Not to mention, most guys around my age look mostly for hook ups nowadays and I’m tired of it. I just don’t understand it. I’m not saying I would wanna get married right now, but it would be nice to actually find a guy who wants a relationship at 22.
