I don’t have teeth, how/when should I tell someone?

Title is a little misleading.

Due to an infection I ended up needing my teeth removed. It’s been a long healing process and my new teeth will be amazing and perfect but the entire process of dental surgery and healing and everything else was, not only extremely expensive, but is taking a long time. This isn’t a few month, I started in January and, likely, have several months to go.

So I have been single for a really long time, have tried to get back into the game a few times. Most recently started on all of the “apps” in July.

I have gone on, at least, one date a week since that time. With several matches more that don’t lead to dates. I vibe very well, things go good, first dates often seem good. But I haven’t secured a second date or any interest at all. I have mentioned the teeth situation at varying times. First-chat, days later, before first date, on first date. Women are so sweet and give me a chance despite this. And it hasn’t been the only reason so not be very successful dating-wise. But it has been directly mentioned a few times as the reason.

Is there a better way to approach this situation? How can I better introduce this weird reality without scaring women away? Do I just stay away from socializing until I get my new teeth? What does that say about me? What does that say about other?

I feel like the competition is stiff, and very few women are likely to choose the guy without teeth if there is another fine first date in a few days.

Do most people go through traumatic medical recovery single and alone? FeelsBadMan.
