I (M20) have liked my friend (F20) for years but also rejected her last year.

I (M20) have liked my friend (F20) since I met her, but she was in a relationship when we became friends - up until maybe 2 years ago. I hadn't asked her out after this breakup because I really value our friendship plus I know we want different things from relationships (for example: I want kids but she doesn't want kids, she hates kids, and can't have any anyway for medical reasons). We have been good friends for years and last year she confessed she liked me to which I replied that I just want to be besties and don't reciprocate these feelings (even though I did). Now it's one year later and my feelings for her haven't changed and she's just broke up with her new boyfriend (this relationship had only lasted about a month) and I don't know whether I should confess my feelings or just try to move on again - because even though I feel like I love her I don't want to jeopardize our friendship with a romantic relationship that's destined to fail.

Any advice?

P.S. thanks for reading!
