Is it perfectly fine to not text the person you’re dating daily? Does it mean they don’t cross your mind at all?

He’ll go a day or two without saying anything to me at all sometimes and it makes me feel like he’s losing interest because he used to reply me so quickly at the start. For context, we’ve been dating exclusively for 2.5 months. But whenever I bring it up, he says he isn’t losing interest, and he does indeed still seem more or less like his usual self whenever we meet up. He said the difference is because he put in extra effort at the start to chase me and now that things seem stable, he has reverted back to his usual self, and that he’s someone who just really needs his own time. I completely understand that because I get like that too and I always tell him when I need my space. And I’m fine with it if he’s busy but I just really wish he would give me a heads up if he intends to not text me for awhile because it makes me feel like I don’t matter.

Am I asking for too much or just being insecure or needy or clingy? I genuinely do not know anymore.

Is anyone like this with their partners / the people they’re dating too?

And if it’s worth still giving things a shot, how do I reassure myself that he isn’t losing interest or cheating on me?

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
