best friend vs romantic partner - how to decide

Hi all, currently trying to figure out where to go in this current relationship and whether the person I'm with is someone I'll be best friends with vs. someone who is a long-term romantic partner. We've been going out for almost 6 months now. I don't feel much romantic butterfly-like physical attraction, but I do feel the following:

  1. feel like I can tell her anything / vice versa; feeling safe with each other.
  2. have a ton of fun with her no matter what we're doing; time passes too quickly when i'm with her.
  3. on the same page about a lot of core values
  4. always respect / kind to one another
  5. care about her - always thinking about what to do next with her, about what to get her for an upcoming event, hoping that she is happy

We've already said to each other that we'll be best friends forever no matter what happens. This is my first relationship, so I'm trying to figure out whether this is going to work long-term or not. Any advice would be helpful!

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
