Pain after clitoral stimulation?

So, recently, me and my bf started experimenting with 3rd base. He did some finger and tongue stuff, but I didn't really feel anything. Then, later that night, he was able to find my clit and he stimulated it for a bit. Out of all the things we've tried so far, this was the only thing i've been able to get physical pleasure out of. The problem, is that after about 30 seconds, it started to hurt. We thought it was just because he was being a bit too rough or smth, so we tried again earlier today, but the same thing happened. I've heard that area gets sore after an orgasm, but I don't think I had one either time. There was just some pulsing and then it hurt, but none of the other "orgasm-symptoms" occured.
