/u/LarryNotCableGuy on Hey guys I’m doing a school presentation about why people should be taught about sexualities in school and I wanted to do a poll to see how you guys found out you were ace ! Thanks :)

I figured it out after a coworker made a derisive "what are you? Asexual?" comment to me because I refused to participate in the incessant sexual bragging that goes on at my (very blue-collar) job. I gave a flippant "yeah pretty much", and then went looking for more info. Prior to that, i'd never considered asexuality as an option.

Several realizations and a lot of introspection later, turns out my coworker's attempt at insulting me was accurate. I'm a-spec and heteroromantic. Thanks, homophobic asshole.
