Yeah the only real reason to make your intentions clear is as a politeness to him and so there are no misunderstandings if you value him as a friend/person. Some people would feel very upset and used to find that someone just wanted to try sex out and used them for that, especially if they were hoping it could turn into something more. Some people feel used and upset just over one night stands in general. That doesn’t sound like this situation but with something so intimate It’s best to be clear and make sure you don’t hurt anyone. It doesn’t need to be a long conversation just a quick clarification that can be made during the consent part of the conversation. It also makes thing less stressful the next day and you don’t have to worry about ‘what is this’ vibes. The other comments have good advice too 👍

My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
