(21 F) completely confused over this guy (20 M) and his actions towards me?

So I've fallen hard and fast for this guy I met a couple of months ago. I've been out of the dating scene for around a year now, and decided not to look for anything due to my track record of past relationships crashing and burning spectacularly. Anyway, I met this guy through a volunteering thing, and we immediately hit it off. We'd talk every day, and he'd make me laugh more than I've ever laughed before. I initially saw him as a good friend, but slowly those feelings developed into a full blown crush, which I'm pretty afraid of - let's just say I've been used a lot by various people. He asked me to dinner a few weeks ago, and I wasn't sure if it was meant to be a date or something friendly. Regardless, I had an amazing evening and he kindly picked up the bill, despite my protests. We hung out until pretty late, walking and chatting and went our separate ways home. About a week later, I visited him at his house and we watched a movie, put his arms around me for a bit, and then he kissed me. The kissing stuff went on for a while, until he had to go to work. Fast forward to now, over a week later, and we're still talking every day, but it's normal conversation (as it has been the whole time previously).

I've tried to take some initiative and I asked him out to a movie twice and he's declined, stating that he'd really like to but unfortunately is busy with family/friends. Since the volunteering thing is over, I can't see him unless we make plans to. I guess what I'm trying to figure out is where I stand with this guy. Because on the one hand, being his mate is really nice and I'm happy to keep talking, but on the other hand, he took me to dinner and a week later we were cuddling and kissing in his apartment - that's not the kind of thing you do with friends? Whenever I saw him in person, he'd always address me by my name in the middle of conversation, tease me about something stupid like my accent or something I did, call something I do or say 'cute', and became quite touchy, but quite subtly (walking closer so our arms touch, when I'm sat down he'll move so our legs are touching). I've caught the feelings, and I don't want to be walked all over. So in my confusion, I've turned to reddit. Can anyone offer me a better perspective on this whole mess?
