Dating girls that come from less $$

(Little background info feel free to skip to end) Don’t know if this sub is meant for my question, but here we go. i’m an 18m finishing up high school and have worked since 15, therefore saved up a lot of money. (talking mid 30ks all self made). I come from middle class in a rather wealthy area. Most kids around me are spoiled with cars and big allowances. I purchased a car myself and pay all gas, insurance, and buy clothes for myself. Not common where i’m from.

To get to the point, i only tend to date and are attracted to girls who come from poor backgrounds/ families. For some reason taking them to pricier dinners and treating them to new experiences and seeing them so happy brings a smile to my face, something that a girl who comes from parents who give handouts doesn’t care about. these days, when a girl tells me all the places they’ve been, or the car they’re dad bought them, i just move on.

is this normal?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
