advice? dating outside your socioeconomical niche.

During my lifetime I've had the fortune of meeting and living with all sorts of people. From the richest mf to the poorest; different races; different cities and countries. And people do be wildly different in what their values are, their interests, their way fo thinking.

I've not always understood or clicked with everyone, but I did appreciate the differences. They all have their pros and cons. And it always felt unfamiliar from the family and city I grew up in. I don't like the way my family is, nor how the people in my home city are. And as I try to move forward and get for myself the quality of life I want, I can't help but wonder if it's going to be more challenging to date or connect with people from a social environment I wasn't born in. A part of me can't shake the thought I can get out of the hood but I can't get the hood ouside of me (figuratively speaking lol).

Any advice on dating or trying to form relationships with people different from the people you grew up with? I hope my post makes sense lol

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now. We hit it off and spent a lot of time together but she began to push our relationship as if there were a time clock for milestones.
