I followed all the advice on here, but all I can land is rejection? Is the advice on here just shitty or am I not doing it correctly? I

I’ve been trying to get a girlfriend for 5 or so years. After asking my successful friends and looking on forums the most common advice was the following.

  1. Confidence
  2. Humor
  3. Style
  4. Charisma
  5. Eye contact

I followed all of the steps to a T, but all I get is rejection from women. Women often compliment my personality and say I’m very funny and stylish (two things that according to Reddit are big factors in attracting women), but they never see me as boyfriend material. I had great conversations with a girl I was interested in and did all of the flirting essentials (eye contact, touch, humor) and yet I overheard her saying she didn’t really like me and only liked my personality. So is all of this advice just bullshit? The number one thing I hear about dating is that confidence and personality can help you attract women, but that doesn’t seem to work for me. I only end up gaining women who like me as friends and never as boyfriends. Or am I just not being confident and funny enough(which is strange considering most people tend to find me humorous) can y’all please help me?
