Can't really ask a girl out unless I get to know her

Hi guys,

I guess this is not an usual topic here, but I have this sort of a problem. I can't really ask a girl out unless I get to know her a little bit better. Sometimes I would even wait to get to know a girl so well that I even develop strong feelings for her and then I usually get really hurt.

It's not that I fear rejection that much. I've been rejected couple of times and I was okay with it since I made a move early on when there were no strong feelings involved. So, I don't think that's a problem.

If you wonder why I think this is a problem, here is why I think it is. With this approach I don't take a shot that often. Maybe twice a year. This resulted in me being 23 years old with no relationship experience. I either wait for to long and end up in friendzone with ambivalent girls who are flirty but keep saying saying they see me as a friend only. Or I don't try at all cause physical appearance is rarely enough for me to make a move.

For example, I see my friends asking out girls they've just met. But, I don't think I can do that, unless I find that girl extraordinarily interesting. Like, how do you know if you like someone so quickly?

Any advice for me?

My (27f) gf (27f) is getting tired of me not sharing intimate/ personal info about me

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
