I texted a guy I am dating "will this end sadly?" and he responded with "not necessarily" what does it mean?

So there is this guy I have been seeing, he is from a different religion and he said that him and I have no future together. I asked him to think about his life and decide if he is ready to go against his parents wishes. We had no contact for five days because I gave him time to think. Yesterday he texted me and asked me to go for a walk on Monday. I wanted to get a vibe how our conversation on Monday is going to turn out and what he has decided, so I texted him "will this end sadly" and he responded "not necessarily" what does this answer mean? I texted him back what his answer meant and he responded with "wait on Monday everything will be clear then" I am not ready to wait, I have been crying now for five days, so what do you think his comment meant?
