How should I approach this situation with a girl who is also a good friend?

I (29M) has been friends with a girl for a while. Actually, I have known her for longer, may be a year or even more, but never interacted so much. In the recent past, we started interacting, and I have actually started enjoying her company, talking to her, and I look forward to seeing her whenever I get the chance. We work together, it’s not a traditional job setting, but we are just sort of students. Now, I know she is single, but I am also pretty sure she doesn’t like me like that (based on my strong intuition). Our conversations are pretty casual and but there is no flirting involved whatsoever. It’s just like two good friends who like talking and making fun (jokingly) and teasing each other. Now, I am not sure what to do now. I obviously like her and should ask her out. But then, if she says she ain’t interested then everything takes an awkward turn, which I don’t want (I am completely fine with a ‘no’ though). We both belong to very different cultures, which is also something that makes me feel it’s not going to lead into anything, which is totally understandable. With the school about to start, I am going to get a lot busier, as will she. So I guess we will have less interacting opportunities. So, either I let it go or I get a closure on this before our lives get busy. How should I approach this situation. I know the simple answer is just go ask her out but I am looking for something more concrete, like what should I exactly say, if anything, or should I just let it go. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!
