A girl I have a crush joked about getting with me

So there's this girl I crush on I've known her for years but I never felt there was anything between us. Our parents are really good friends so occasionally we come face to face one. One of these times our parents suggested we should go out with each other she instantly rejected the idea and was really angry with her parents for suggesting it.

So I left it at that and moved on, it's been years since then and I've matured alot within that time. About a month ago my mom needed to drop something off to them so I went with her in the car, I stayed in the car while she went in and the girl came out and we started talking. I have very little experience with talking to women and I'm very shy however I could speak to her with ease and felt a connection between us.

Since then I've been debating if she felt anything towards me but I've always been to afraid to message her. During this time I've been trying to improve myself by looking for a new job that's when I decided I wanted to apply for the forces. That's when my mom went shopping and saw the girl at her work they got into a conversation about me applying for the forces. That's when she said "maybe I should get with Jordan then". Does this mean anything or is she just joking around?

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse.
