Long term single + Moving to a new town

Maybe not the best title & definitely a bit of a ramble, but…

For context: I moved to university 5 years ago. During that time I had one relationship with a person who was a good friend of mine before the relationship. At the start of our relationship, we never dated, we kinda just fell into it.

She broke it off at the end of my second year and to be honest, it properly screwed me up, fully broke my heart. But it is what it is, we move on.

By the time I was ready to start seeing other people, covid hit and I ended up moving back home. I continued living at home, before then moving for a 1 year long internship.

I returned to university last year, for my final year and joined tinder, hinge and bumble.

Since then I’ve been on one date with one person and drunkenly kissed another.

I recently graduated and I start my grad job next month, it’s my dream job. Only problem being, it’s in small town, roughly and hour from the nearest big city.

I’m quite happy on my own, but I would also quite like to meet someone

I guess my questions are: How do you actually date? How do you meet people in a small town?

My (27f) gf (27f) is getting tired of me not sharing intimate/ personal info about me

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
