two dates and then we disappeared on each other...

This was back in January. he asked me out both times (we are both between our late20s/ early 30s). First was a coffee date, second was a brunch date.

At the end of the brunch date, we chatted and we were saying that next time we should do XYZ/hang out next week! etc, and then after the date, we texted a bit about random stuff.. and then no one texted again.

Not sure what happened there... but I will be doing some work in his dept this summer, for a couple of weeks, in which the chance of running into him is high. He seems like a nice person, wondering if it's ok to just randomly text and say hey, how are you? ... or is that weird?

He is on the introverted, quiet side... sort of awkward, works in science. Im more outgoing
