What is it with girls already having boyfriends and lying about it?
So I (M25) have been doing my own thing for the past couple months. Gym, work, friends, minor hobbies, thats it. I'm open to meeting people but not really a primary focus at the moment. But I have no idea what is happneing with my luck. Recently had met a girl at an event a friend of mine had at her college so I went to visit. We talked, flirted, danced and turns out we have similar tastes in alot of stuff. Anyways, I asked her I could get to know her better and take her and she said yes. So we get to know eachother over a few weeks I go visit my friend here and there and see her of course. We don't go out though since the last month of school has her busy but is down after.
I go back one weekend for a party. Things take a weird turn when my friend introduces me to her other friends, mostly women, and they proceed to start aggresively flirting. It's drunk college girls so nothing uncommon but I just wasn't interested. Anyways my friend tells everyone I'm looking for something serious, which I am and that I'm working on me while looking to take things slow. All true since I've told her this before.
Anyways, the girl I had been talking to is being a bit weird but whatever. Slowly some rumours get out, like she has a boyfriend of 5 years. My friend did some digging and saw that this is true but doesn't know if they are still together or what, but see's on instagram their last photo was only a few months ago. Friend does more digging, figures out this girl claims its "Complicated". This girl also tells me and then tells me she has a date for the next day. I just say "cool, have fun" and then changed the subject to a show. I told her I'm going to bed and that was it. We still have some mutual friends, so I sent her a snap that I send to everyone, just funny video. She used to reply within seconds and this time left me on delivered, my friend says they don't really talk anymore either.
See, this isn't too big a deal by itself since I was just getting to know her and flirting, it wasn't too serious. But this is like the third girl that has been hiding a relationship. If you have someone, just say you are taken and stop flirting so hard. We can be friends, just be honest from the start and I'll know not to waste that kind of energy on you. Maybe I'll look a little silly but now I don't even know what to call it, bad luck? Anyways, rant over, feel free to let me know any opinions.
