Maybe I'm just overly nitpicky here, but isn't this kinda missing the point? Making a sea sponge ace, a species known for reproducing asexually? Isn't this just reinforcing the idea that asexuals aren't fully "human"? I'm probably just too picky or sensitive when it comes to this, but I'd personally prefer human characters being portrayed as ace.
