Girls, help me out... BC and dating?

I'm a 22F, I have never been on a date in my life. I want to finally start putting myself out there and hopefully going on some. Anyway, from what seems to be the general consensus, guys expect sex pretty soon into dating...like date two or three? I've never been on BC for sadly obvious reasons, lol. The idea of 'the pill' makes me nervous. I know IUD is most effective but I'm very squeamish about medical procedures and the process for those sounds awful, so I guess the pill is my best bet. Obviously, I don't want to get pregnant, but the side effects of the pill just sound so dangerous... plus, not knowing which one I'd react well too, etc. So, I guess I have a few questions... Do most girls go on BC specifically before they start dating? Don't you have to be on it for a month for it to work, so should I be factoring that in? Do guys really hate condoms that much? And are they really that prone to ripping/failing? I feel so out of my element about...

Why has my FWB gone cold?

I first hooked up with my fwb in high school. I was 16 he was 18. We've hooked up on and off for eight years. At 18, I asked for more, but he made it clear he only wanted sex. I'm 23 now he is 26 We both agreed that if one of us started seeing someone else, we would tell each other, or if one of us was no longer into the FWB situation we would tell each other. He’s very respectful (or was) about this. So all this started in April. I went there last Friday (July 27) and we hooked up and as per usual I left right after. Normally we hook up minimum 2-3x a week plus a lot of sexting. It’s also normal for the texting to slow over the weekend but pick back up literally 7 AM Monday. Well the Monday came and nothing. Tuesday and nothing. Finally I messaged him Wednesday and asked if I could come by for a D session. His reply was “can’t. Busy.” If he’s busy he normally would go off on what he’s busy about. So I said “Oh ok. Haven’t heard from you in a bit. Are you still interested in ...

I saw the light I hope I can help someone with this simple observation!

I thought I was in an impossible position, but now it's clear. I thought I will mever get out of the following aspect and was desperately giving everything a try. But I realized it's not the way. You can't expect a relationship with fun trips, mutual respect and other nice shit from an idiot who randomly adds you and thinks you will fall for his "18 centimetres". Lmao, I'm open for a relationship and would like to have a boyfriend, but one with an actual personality and someone I can actually build on. But I'd rather wanna die single than dating a desperate pervert, lmao. I don't know if I will ever meet someone, but hey I'm an open and easy person, but I have self respect and I hope some folks will learn it as well. /u/Reptorian on I want to become asexual. How can I do so?

In most cases, they are born that way. In no cases, there's a choice involved. See my other reply here. April 11, 2021 at 12:04AM

it’s something you’re born with. In most cases. But, it never is a choice. Sexuality is linked to the brain, and the brain is susceptible to structural and chemical changes, and thus sexuality could change, but changes aren't a choice regardless. People do go blind, or end up with heavily altered personality, or become savage in something, etc due to brain changes, and sexuality is no different. April 11, 2021 at 12:03AM

/u/RatherBeHomesick on I don't mean like *right now*.

Well, double-yikes, then. Everything about my insight stands, plus that. 🤷🏽‍♀️ An adult needs to set boundaries with a minor, when it comes to infatuations. Adults also shouldn’t be venting about their sexuality/romantic lives to minors. Minors aren’t known for their stellar relationship advice or keen sense of sexual awareness. April 11, 2021 at 12:02AM
