Everyone says not to search for happiness in other people, but how to actually know if you are not relying on someone else for happiness?

I have read so many blogposts and reddit posts from people telling the readers to not search for our happiness in others. Though the concept itself is extremely clear to me, the execution of this principle seems to be rather lacking in my personal life. Especially considering I am still in the aftermath of an emotional breakup which ended because we relied too much on each other for happiness. Now that I am venturing back into the dating scene I am wondering: how to tell whether you are relying on someone else for happiness? Or whether you are intrinsically, completely happy because of you. Thank you, kind redditors ❤️ stay safe and inside Submitted April 19, 2020 at 11:43PM I have read so many blogposts and reddit posts from people telling the readers to not search for our happiness in others.Though the concept itself is extremely clear to me, the execution of this principle seems to be rather lacking in my personal life. I (F19) am constantly told by strangers, relatives and friends that I am pretty but guys I like don’t really seem to pay any attention

Sorry if this comes across super vain or anything - that’s not my intention. I don’t really see myself as being all that great, but according to others (especially girls or women at the store etc) I am “pretty.” I have some wonderful Male friends who have also said the same thing (they’re not flirting, they’re people who call me “sis” or have girlfriends and are paying a friend a genuine compliment) but it seems like guys don’t actually see me as an option. If anyone catches my eye who I’ve spoken to they don’t really seem to notice me in particular or pay much attention back. One or two people have mentioned that I must only be single because guys are too intimidated to approach me which was something I’d never really thought about before because I find myself so normal and feel like a totally average person lol... I’m open to getting to know just about anyone and not intimidating at all! How can I tell the difference between people maybe actually being intimidated and them simply n...

If a woman is 25 and has never had a real boyfriend, would you assume she’s likely the issue?

Is it her fault if guys that pursue her are generally not her preference? She shouldn’t settle should she now. Submitted April 20, 2020 at 12:06AM Is it her fault if guys that pursue her are generally not her preference? She shouldn’t settle should she now.

How many months/weeks before lockdown ends will you pursue someone on a dating app?

When will you start to take interest in someone on a dating app? I don't want to start too early and build up something and run out of things to talk about. IE: If lockdown or quarantine ended in two months , how long before that would you recommend to start building something up with someone?
