/u/MelyndWest on Are there any demisexuals here? How true is the thesis in this article that demis prioritise emotional connection over physical attractiveness? I’m seeing someone who is demisexual and bi. I’m ace so not worried about lack of sex haha, but how should I go about wooing him. Would love your advice!

It depends on each individual. Me for example, I only get romantically connected with someone over a long time of friendship. In my case it takes some time to feel something for the person and only after this time (sometimes years) happens I may feel attracted to said person. But this is my personal experience, every person is different February 06, 2020 at 12:04AM

Worried that BF's mother will be disappointed when she meets me..

He's told me that she's really been wanting to meet me and I don't know what she's expecting. I'm thinking I'll ask him what he's told her about me.. I'm worried that she wont like my quiet personality (most people don't), or will be put off by how unattractive I am (most mothers would want a pretty gf for their son, right?) (I'm the first girlfriend he's had- we're in the 20-22 age range) Are these worries at all realistic or am I just making a bigger deal out of this than it is..? How to get over a guy?

I had a pretty intense texting relationship with a guy from school. He asked me to hang out some time but every time he'd ask I was working or exhausted/pms, or just not up to it. But we'd still talk a lot in text. After a few weeks he started being kinda rude in text and eventually I invited him out at night at a restaurant and he said no. I think I invited him out to make sure he knows I wanna see him. And to make sure he didn't think I wanna have sex or something I said "yeah we can hang out n be friends." (which he didn't like, but I've never even kissed a guy so I was nervous n he doesn't know I've never kissed anyone etc.). He insulted my personality and I said he was being a jerk and I don't wanna see him. He commented on me being childish, not talking enough, even dumb (jokingly I think). I'm still upset about it. I texted him a random question a couple weeks later and he just ignored me. Our texts were playful and fun. I miss ...

I'm in college and I'll build a connection with a girl, but then when I ask them if they'd like to go on a date or hang out in general it's almost always "sorry I'm too busy" and I don't know what to do

I mean, I get it. College can be very busy. But a lot of people on here have said that if they like you, they'll make time. And I'll match with these girls on tinder or meet them through a mutual friend and I'll talk to them for a while to build a connection. And then everytime (this has probably happened 5 times in a row now) they say "sorry, I have a busy schedule haha". I mean with some of them it's not even asking for a real date, just a simple hangout. It's really killing my self esteem and I don't know what the cause of this is other than just I'm not a fun or interesting person Submitted February 05, 2020 at 11:09PM I mean, I get it. Need encouragement

This is me: https://imgur.com/a/IHOK362 I’m 30, 5’6M , engineer, coming out of a rough 6 year relationship and need some encouragement. Besides my height(which continues to worry me), I wonder if I’m attractive enough for most women. I’m fit and getting muscular, lift a lot and run, wonder if I should try to get more muscular before dating again or if I’m good to go where I’m at now? Think I’m at 20% body fat now, but I could get down to 12-15, although I would rather get stronger and more muscular first as I don’t want to appear smaller. Nervous about traveling with boyfriend?

This has been on my mind for a little while, I think I’m just insecure but would love any advice from anyone who has felt similarly. My new-ish boyfriend and I are planning a trip at the beginning of March to go to the beach together. I’m thinking of this as a pretty major step in our relationship in terms of getting more serious with each other. We’ve been dating for about 5 months; we are both in our mid-20’s and have full time jobs, so we really only see each other on the weekends. I really really like this guy, I think he’s totally amazing and I always look forward to the time we spend together. He’s mature, sweet, considerate, and treats me with respect; it’s probably the healthiest relationship I’ve ever been in. However, as this trip is approaching, I’m starting to get really nervous about spending so much time together for the first time. I’m a little scared about just sharing the same space with him with little to no privacy for an extended amount of time— like will he thin...

when do you know the time is right to ask someone out?

I guess what i am wondering is when do you know the time is right to ask someone out? I have a friend [F,16] , I like her a lot but i have no idea what to do and im not that confident she feels the same way about me. A lot of my friends think she does but idk i perceive myself as a pretty meh person so i assume she doesn’t but from what they said I guess i can see why they think so. P.s her friends always make remarks about us while we are walking together etc. Does this mean anything? -[M,16] Submitted February 05, 2020 at 11:27PM I guess what i am wondering is when do you know the time is right to ask someone out?I have a friend [F,16] , I like her a lot but i have no idea what to do and im not that confident she feels the same way about me.
