Should I cut my losses?

I (30M) recently met a girl (28F) through a mutual friend. We recently went on a date that started off as coffee, turned into dinner, and then we continued to chat into the evening until I dropped her off at her place. We hit it off really well and I got no impression that she wasn't interested in me. We've been texting each other the past few days, just flirting and laughing, but it was clear we both wanted to see each other again. We both have conflicting work schedules so finding time was proving to be difficult. She told me earlier this week that Tuesday was her day off indicating that she wanted to see me again. I made plans with her and we both seemed happy about it. So far no problems. Then Tuesday rolls around and I'm checking in with her throughout the day, seeing what she's up to and making chit chat up until a couple hours before I get off work. I sent her a text message asking if we're still on for tonight and wanted to know what time I could pick her up. She texts me back that she's been playing video games all day and hasn't done any of the chores she needed to do that day and she would have to cancel. How am I supposed to take that? It seems really irresponsible and it's really rubbing me the wrong way. Is it worth it to try and recover from a situation like this or is this an indication that they're not ready for any kind of relationship?
