Did I do something wrong or am I paranoid?

So I 25(M) was chatting with this girl 25(F) for a while and we sort of fell out. But one day we meet eye contact in the gym. To be polite I later texted her saying hi and after a while of messaging we decided to hangout at a bar.

We had a fantastic night out! We played pool, throw darts, had flirty banter and I was even slick enough to pay off her bar tabs before she could. Then about 3am the bar was closing and she wasn’t sober enough to drive. She said her mother would pick her up so we talked until then. Before she left, she invited me to a small get together for 4th of July. Naturally I accepted seeing as I didn’t have anything else to do that day. (Looking back on it she may have invited me cause I told her I wasn’t gonna join my parents cause I thought they should get to enjoy the day by themselves)

Anyways, the day comes and I show up and meet up with her, her friend and her friend’s boyfriend. She wore a rocking bikini which is something I didn’t see in her insta so I thought maybe she wore it for me.

And here’s where I think it all started

I wanted to compliment her but I started to second guess myself. her parents were near by and I didn’t wanna say anything that might make her parents unhappy. Then I thought “wait you don’t wanna say anything that’ll make her friends hate you”. Cause one thing that can kill a relationship quick is friends and family hating you. So a lot of times I kept my mouth shut except for the occasional joke.

So after a couple hours later I’m alone with the girl I like and she asks me if I’d like to meet her cat. So I said ya and she took me to her room. I had no idea what to do! She invited me to her room! Which either means be cool and respect her space or time to make a move. She told me before that she had been in some really bad relationships with manipulative guys. I decided that I wanted to show her the respect that she deserves. So instead of saying anything we made some awkward small talk and left after 5 minutes.

After we ate, the girl I like, her friend and I were sitting around talking. To not be rude I didn’t say much. And then after a while her friend said she was gonna leave. So I thought maybe I should too cause i didn’t wanna over stay my welcome.

Here’s where the fuckery begins!

I make it home, shower and check my insta. In her story I see her friend that left a minute before me with her. The story was 5 minutes old! Then I try to check her story again and GONE. I can’t see her story. So she either deleted it or hide her stories from me. (Insta allows you to hide stories from selected people)

Now my mind is going crazy! Cause maybe she wanted to hang with her friend and wanted me to leave without being mean. OOOOR maybe she thought I was boring and wanted me gone.

A few days later I see her at the gym and I treated her like normal. I suggested we hang out again and she said she’ll hit me up when she’s free. Tbh It’s been like week or 2 and she hasn’t said anything to me. I know for a fact she is busy recently but I still wanna see her.

So imma just bring all this to an end. imma ask her out in a date and see what she says. if she says then great and if she says no then I'll know for sure.
