Keeping a new LDR interesting?
I (18M) met a girl (18F) through a mutual friend back in college a couple of months ago. During that time, we went out together because we had overlapping friend groups, and after talking, found that we have a ton in common. Before we left for the summer (i.e., about a month ago), she reached out to me over Instagram and gave me her number. Since then, we have been texting back and forth multiple times daily, and things have been going well; however, we live 5 hours from each other. I visited her a couple of weeks ago for a “hangout sesh” (not an official date, though it certainly felt like one) because I was close to her hometown by chance. Unfortunately, I don’t have the time or money to see her every weekend, and our texts are getting somewhat dry. It’s getting to the point where we’re constantly asking each other, “how was your day” to hold onto the convo (not that it’s a bad thing, it just seems like things are drying up a bit). I should also mention that we have yet to FaceTime. However, we send videos of each other doing various things throughout the day (e.g., reading a book, watching a movie, or trying snacks that we suggest to each other).
What do you believe the course of action might be to help progress our friendship/relationship forward over the summer? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
