Am I wrong for wanting to go out on dates more instead of always chilling at home?

Hi everyone. So I’ve been dating this guy since January. In the beginning, we went out on dates every month. But it’s stopped. Financially he gets social security every month from his father’s retirement & now he works at a seasonal job. He told me before that he doesn’t want to go on dates & be broke after. It kinda made me feel like I was the cause of that. Granted, when he needed groceries I bought them for him, so I never watched him struggle.

However, we want to see each other this weekend & I don’t want to stay in the house. He says it all depends on if he gets his check this weekend. I’ve been to his house more than we’ve been out. I expressed that I don’t want to just stay in the house the entire time. Am I wrong if I don’t want to spend the entire time in house instead of me wanting to out? Would I be wrong if I postponed our visit until then.

Oh & he’s made it clear he doesn’t want me paying for dates.

I’ve always been extremely private and introverted. My (23M) girlfriend (25F) relationship is confusing to me. I might be the problem, or maybe we are just incompatible.

I met my girlfriend after a few serious breakups that led me to change both intentionally and unintentionally over a few years. For better and for worse. She had just gotten out of an engagement with a verbally and physically abusive man who had a cocaine problem. We have been together about 8 months now.
