UPDATE: So I gave it another go, and this time she was honest with me... But she still looks at me and sits by where I sit.

So after some waiting around, and building up some courage, I decided to go back to the store where she works after three months of not seeing her there. I approach her as she is checking the shirts for stock. When I do see her this time, she does step away from her job momentarily and talk with me. We talk about how both of our grades were shit in prior classes and I even made her laugh again regarding which class she's taking.

Considering that she is usually shy around me, I just thought I'd give it another go since I was not sure if she was expecting me to ask again. So I did it, and, while painful, she was honest this time. She told me that she wasn't interested (said it very softly and noticed she squinted her eyes while saying it too), and that there was a lot going on in her life, and she was too busy balancing a full time job and college together. I told her it was fine, and I looked forward to talking to her again, and I left.

It did hurt for a bit, but I also was glad that she was just straight forward with me. I definitely do think there is a lot going on in her life, as sometimes she does look depressed at class, and I don't know what goes on in her life personally. I'm not sure if she lives with her parents or not, but if so, there might be some family issues going on I am unaware of.

But even after I asked her out, I still manage to catch her attention from afar (and pretend I don't notice), and she still sat near a table to mine when she was doing her work in class. She never looked my direction, but I am sure she knew I kept looking at her. She was doing her eyeliner, and occasionally stroked her hair out of nowhere. I'm not sure if I am reading too much into it or not, but there is no way she never noticed me looking at her with how close I was.

I'm wondering if she still has feelings for me, but isn't emotionally ready to date yet? Should I just be patient and take things slow, like try to talk to her if I can at the campus, or even drop in at her work once and awhile, and eventually, see if anything else happens? Or should I just be on a lookout for other women who may be interested?

As of now, there is someone else I've been trying to see more of at the cafe, but she hasn't been back for awhile, so she may have quit. I kind of feel like trying my shots with other people, but currently besides her and the former girl at first, no one has shown interest in me. And personally, I don't have much feelings for anyone else at the moment. Not saying I won't be open to them, but as of now, I just simply don't feel for anyone currently.
