i’m autosexual & on the ace spectrum. i first noticed this in 2019 & told my friends & i didnt like their reactions (one of them said it was weird) so i shut down any possibility of me being autosexual. last year i realised i was asexual & that i don’t experience sexual attraction to others, & months later the idea of me possibly being autosexual came up again when i saw some tiktok of someone talking abt it, & a comment mentioned that autosexuals r on the ace spectrum !!! i kind of want to tell ppl but ive already spent over a year explaining asexuality to ppl. idk if im ready to spend another year explaining autosexuality & be told im confused or narcissistic, esp wen asexuality itself is already misunderstood / unheard of. So, a girl I work with I think likes me. Now she will sit with me over everyone including her father on all our breaks. We have good conversations, and she makes the effort to keep the conversation going. The confusion for me is once we are working, she will purposely ignore me, refuse to look at me if she thinks I will see, but I catch her when I have my back to her. Obviously in the bi example, the bisexual person can still reciprocate their current partner's sexual attraction so it isn't the same with a gay person and a straight one. Or an allo and an ace, since the sexual attraction in these two situations isn't mutual. But thing is most people want their sexual desire for their partner to be reciprocated (because most people are allo), so if they find out the partner doesn't desire them the same way they do they feel lied to.
